Another view of the same train as it passes Windy Point just West of the Cumbres Summit. August 28, 1968. K36 #484 can be seen pushing on the rear, the small depot at Cumbres is to my back.

What would have been moving in those boxcars then? I know about the pipe to Farmington, but what would have been generating boxcar traffic in '68, and what were the origin and destinations?

IIRC...Durango was generating lumber traffic that was loaded into the boxcars...

On west bound trains, the boxcars were loaded with some kind of bagged drilling mud for EPNG in Farminton.
