4449 at Eugene with a diseasel

4449 awaits the addition of the 6826, seen here on the mainline. It is December 14, 1988 and this is the Spirit of the West Shippers' special that will head down the Siskiyou Branch to Medford, OR. the next day. Behind 4449 is DRGW SD50 #5514 and a 14 car train.

Great shot. That was a real trip to remember. The cold clear weather from Roseburg, OR south made for some
spectacular photography.

You could'ive cropped that deseasel out !

This shows the value of normal stuff over time. This weekend, the 4449 will be merrily steaming away in red and orange imron. Good luck finding a red and grey Espee T-2 anywhere in Oregon...

There are some in Eugene...oh wait...those are red and black now
