Steam & Excursion > Work continues on WP 165Date: 04/16/08 17:53 Work continues on WP 165 Author: zephyrus A Western Pacific steam locomotive is under active restoration!
Last week, the WPRM steam crew spent several days working on WP 0-6-0 165, removing old flues and doing inspection and testing on the boiler, among many other things. So far, things are looking good and the old kettle looks sound. If you would like to help bring the 165 back to life, donations are needed! The following link leads to our PayPal page: Also, there are pins and products for sale and more information on the FRRS steam page: http://steam.wplives.org photos by Chris Allan... 1 - a couple of the newer volunteers work on the boiler shell. 2 - Roger Stabler works inside the boiler, cutting out the old flues. 3 - Charlie Spikes takes a turn with the torch. The WP 165 team is led by Chris Allan and is committed to returning WP 165 to operation at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum. Another work session is scheduled for July. I can't wait to see it steam again!

Bob, I've never heard this class of 0-6-0 referred to as part of the USRA designs. The initial locomotives in this class were built in 1915, before the USRA specs were created, so I would say no. Z |
