Flake Willis Letter on McCloud River #25
Author: JDLX

Back in 1989, shortly after the McCloud River Railroad conveyed the #25 to the Great Western Museum as part of the litigation settlement, two gentlemen in McCloud mailed a letter to retired McCloud River president Flake Willis at his home in Snowflake, Arizona, seeking information on if the railroad had ever transferred or promised the locomotive to anyone that might prevent its sale to anyone else. Flake ran the McCloud from 1952 until 1969, when he retired back to Arizona. Flake's response is attached. Names and other personal information have been removed to protect privacy.

I thought some may find Flake's thoughts interesting.
