Bob's Photos - B&O Cincinnatian, Wapakoneta, OH
Author: NKP779

The new Cincinnatian book by Thomas Dixon has some nice photography in my home territory of Wapakoneta. There is a great color shot of a streamlined B&O train going through town on the back cover. Does anybody have contact info for Bob's Photos? I couldn't find a listing on the internet and would like to see if I could order a print of that and maybe other shots.

Bob frequents the big train shows and will probably be at the one in Saline, MI next month (Ann Arbor Model Railroad Club show--you should be able to find it on the internet).

I will see if I have one of his business cards at home and get back with you via an private email.

Actually, in my experience, he's not that responsive to requests like that as is on the road a lot I guess. I think you would just have to keep bugging him. But if you are lucky you can get in touch with him and if you want to visit the show anyway, pick up your prints there?

The previous address for Bob's Photo is stale. As of this past weekend's
Amherst Show, his address is P.O. Box 52, Wallingford, KY 41093. Phone
is 606-845-3323. I made sure I went to their booth and picked up a
business card as he's moved twice (or more) in recent times.

Other comment about being not very responsive, unfortunately, I have to
agree. A photo I was looking for was empty in his album, I asked if I
could get one done, he knew what I was looking for, but after asking a
few times at following shows, I gave up.

Not to knock him, he has some fantastic shots and what he brings to shows
(only a fraction of what he has) is aimed at the the show's local railroads. But the best way to get anything is find him doing a show, find the item in one of his MANY albums and purchase it right then and there.

Good Luck

Frank, you got that right!

And to NKP 779 (Wayne?) here is a link to the show in February that he may be at.

(He has been up there the last several years.) It is only a one day show this year and it may be worth pooling up there with some friends.

(I hope Bob is doing better as he was having trouble with his legs while driving.)

That book you mentioned. I just received my copy of that book in the mail today. You lives in the Wapakonmeta area. There was a weird railroad crossing gate and signals on Willipie Street aka old US-25 that I saw when I was eight years old in June, 1957. Any picture of that crossing from that year. Thank you. Stay safe.
