1225 from yesterday
Author: Weisguy

The Steam Railroading Institute took PM 1225 on a rare outing yesterday. For only the third time in its nearly 21 year excursion career, the locomotive was operated on the former Ann Arbor railroad SOUTH of Durand. In fact, this was the first time the engine had pulled public excursions on this section of line...the last time it ran here was in August of 1991, when it was enroute to the NRHS convention in Huntington, WV.
The 1225, along with Great Lakes Central GP35 391, pulled three round trip excursions between Hamburg and Osmer, the interchange point between GLC and the present-day Ann Arbor Railroad, as part of Hamburg's annual Railroad & History Days celebration. The event went off very well with lots of people of all generations either riding one of the trains or just stopping by to take a look. Kudos to SRI (and GLC and the village of Hamburg) for another job well done.
I haven't really had a chance to edit my photos yet, but here's a little preview: 1225 arriving at Howell's former Ann Arbor station on the return ferry move to Owosso.
