The Mount Lahaska Cogless Railway
Author: Mgoldman

Otherwise known as the New Hope and Ivyland as seen from a unique perspective
near the line's tourist terminus of Lahaska. And you thought you had to go
to New Hampshire to get to the "mountains"!

I know it was taken with a telephoto but any idea what the grade percent is?

Not sure the grade but as for the GE C39-8's, I think there
are 5 of them there now. Most of them, if not all of them
are for Ross Rowland's Greenbriar express (in lieu of steam
for the time being). They are being rebuilt by the New
Hope and Ivyland for the project. New Hope itself runs a
nicely painted GE C30-7.

The ruling grade on the NH&I Southbound ( New Hope towards Lahaska/Buckingham) is 1.3% for about 3 miles, the hump out of Lahaska going North towards New Hope is 1.7%.

The overall track structure has been improved greatly in recent years and is now in good condition for the 20 mph track speed.
