Steam & Excursion > 614, 611, 1218 and "Lost engine" 1151

I went to see 614 at Virginia Transportation Museum today. Combined this with visiting family and a
little train watching a Roanoke. First picture is 611 and 614, then 2 of 614. 614 is very impressive
loco and seeing it with 611 and 1218 was nice. Most of my pictures of 614 were too dark.
I have not seen anybody post pictures of 614 at Roanoke. If you get a chance to see 614 before it is
moved you would like it.

Outside the Museum fenced area, I found 1151. One of the "lost engines of Roanoke".
I think the story is 3 old N&W 4-8-0 locos were in a scrap yard in Roanoke for years
and last year they were pulled out and 2 went to other places. There were some pictures
of them moving them posted here some time ago. Here are 3 pictures of 1151.

About how long before the planned 614 move out?

The handout from the museum says "The 614 will travel to the C&O Railway Heritage Center
in Clifton Forge, VA at the end of April."

Anybody know of those shots of 614 with the sun on the front...were they taken in the early morning, or, late afternoon??? I will be in Roanoke myself in two weeks, and would like to know. Thank you.

Pictures were taken between 10:00 AM and noon.
