C&T /Lerro Productions Photo Charter
Author: Mgoldman

A few from the Lerro Productions Cumbres and Toltec photo charter
held September 21st and 22nd of September.

The charter began late Wednesday. We chased the regular train, and
then later our freight to Cumbres. We then boarded the freight train
(with "faux #485) and took it to Tanglefoot Curve for a series of run
byes returning to Cumbres for a few shots by the wye and the station.

After a catered dinner, we set up for a night shoot.

The next day the train with stock cars went all the way to Ozier
where Pete was able to corral 10 rather timid and uncooperative
cows. We have had much better luck with actors but we'll keep
at it looking for better results each time.

The second night photo session was in the yard at Chama. A rented
generator conked out midway but there were enough power sockets
available by the shops to continue on.

Special thanks to the C&T crew for being so accommodating and
personable. Was great putting a few more TO names to faces!

Enjoy!

At Cumbres Pass - no signals other then a flagman and his ATV'ing dog!

One of the regular trains making it's way up the pass.

Climbing the grade at Tanglefoot Curve.

I think the Trestle one at Los Pinos is my favorite. Best "train in a landscape" picture of the set.

I almost went on this charter but the timing did not work out.

Boy it's a shame Mitch doesn't have a decent camera or an eye for photography.

Hard to imagine what he could really do!! (wink, wink , nod, nod)

A fine job indeed!!

And to think, I wasn't that disappointed by the lack of a 'panned shot'...

Name's Bill.
That crossing is dangerous.
Gave him a red safety vest July 4th.
Guess it was swiped, or he didn't like it.

Bill and Bandit - friendly pair, indeed!

Curious - how did the C&T bypass the need for a
signal crossing? I guess having a flagman serves
as an acceptable measure?

Odd - as the crossing isn't exactly a back road
and sees more trains then other signaled crossings.

; )

Had I been panning in 1951, it likely would've
looked like this!
