What a tantalizing teaser. > > That one's gonna raise the bar quite a bit. > > --M I grew up in the same apartment building as Stephen Low, the producer. Stephen was always a steam fan, and we rode many CN 6218 excursions together in the 1960's. Even then as a teenager, he wanted to do a feature film about steam trains. We moved on in life, I moved out west and he eventually persued a career in the motion picture industry in Montreal. We always have kept in contact, and I remember in the 1980's, he sent me a copy of a script which would eventually become "Rocky Mountain Express". During the 1990's, Stephen produced several IMAX movies on a variety of topics which put his company in the forefront of big format, large screen movie productions. Despite fame and fortune, he persued his dream of a steam train movie. I haven't seen the film yet, and it will only appear at special IMAX theatres. From how it was described, it is astoundingly true to his lifelong vision of a steam train and railroad movie. He did mention at the premiere that this will be the last IMAX movie that will be shot using film rather than digital media. The large format film is both expensive and difficult to obtain.
