Another of my Fathers photos from my GorgeRail program. Yes, that is me at the front pilot of New Haven 4-8-2 #3344 at the Waterbury, CT roundhouse. The engine is a class R-1-b built by ALCo in 1924.

Is that a doghouse built into the top left of the tender?

Yes it is. Here is a photo of me in it. Some of New Havens steam engines had the head brakemans area in that part of the tender.
