This was shot in 1982 just north of Sharon Rd. It is north bound.

Interesting shot. Was this the trip towards connersville when it posed with Number 100 from the whitewater valley railroad?

I don't think I've seen a modern steam photo in glendale before. Thanks for posting!

This would have been a Cincinnati Railroad Club trip to Muncie IN, judging by the combine behind the engine. They took the B&O to New River Junction and then to Muncie via Richmond IN.
There was concern that the curvature at Lester Road and the hill at Norwood Heights would be too stiff for the engine, so they took advantage of Chessie trackage rights out of Cinti to Hamilton.
In this pre-directional running agreement, it was not uncommon to see dimensional NS trains go this way, mainly M43 from Peoria with high-and-wides behind the engines.

The Southern Auxiliary Tender is the give-away. It was only used in the fall of 1982 while the 765 was covering the 2716's schedule.
