Where NS 21st Century Steam will Go...?
Author: 5-String

When NS launched their 21st Century Steam program, they mentioned getting to all major terminals by 2015. Do you know what terminals are considered major? I would think Hagerstown and Lynchburg should be able expect steam... I'd really like to see 630 and/or 4501 in Manassas. This past year, were all the excursions and employee specials out of big terminals?

So is Kansas City, well North Kansas City anyway.

No steam in Cincinnati this year. I would think this would be considered a major terminal. Hopefully, we will get a visit in the next year or two.

That would be nice, but the realist in me says "good luck with that". If you mean 765, you would have to get CSX to agree first unless it came and went from the East/South.

Mr. 1976: The NS has a line from Fort Wayne to Muncie, Richmond and Cincinnati. The 765 has deadheaded on it, even hauling freight, several times in the 80's.

Trust me, I know where it runs. How does NS get from Hamilton to Cincinnati? Answer that and you'll realize why I said what I said.
