Steam & Excursion > "Anticipation"Date: 12/04/12 01:22 "Anticipation" Author: msharps Sierra Railway #3 is just around the corner with headlight ablaze through a cloud of steam. This is approximately 150 yards east of the post office in Sonora. 12/1/2012

Bob Date: 12/04/12 06:45 Re: "Anticipation" Author: PARKCITYBRANCH Very rarely do you see a photo that captures the feeling of every member in a group, but I think you have done that. We have all anticipated the coming of the train, or we would not be here together on this forum. Well done!

Bob Date: 12/04/12 07:33 Re: "Anticipation" Author: TonyJ Seeing that coming I'd be lucky to hold the camera steady. Great shot!

Cheers, Jack Date: 12/04/12 08:33 Re: "Anticipation" Author: UPTRAIN Wow. Without the caption informing you of what engine it was, one's imagination could really run wild with what was actually lurking around the curve.

Date: 12/04/12 09:50 Re: "Anticipation" Author: msharps Thank you all for the kind comments, I wasn't sure how an image like this would be received. Every once in a while you get lucky and capture a scene wrought with poetry and enough abstraction to appeal to a broader audience. This is a certainly a personal favorite in my collection.

Date: 12/04/12 11:28 Re: "Anticipation" Author: ngfan One of the best steam photos to come down the pike, especially when matched with your b/w shot of the loco appearing through the vapors.
Thanks!! Ngfan Date: 12/04/12 11:28 Re: "Anticipation" Author: IC_2024 Magical and magnificent... seldom seen in RR photography. Dawn/twilight and night shooting is where it's at, and you scored BIG--thanks for sharing your well-honed skills!

fantastic picture even without a train. Date: 12/04/12 15:42 Re: "Anticipation" Author: Frisco1522 That's great! Love it.
