The first 2 are at the Portola roundhouse. Martin Date: 12/12/12 14:39 Re: Western Pacific Steam Locomotive Review Author: zephyrus Beautiful, Ken! Thank you, thank you!
Yes, Martin's correct. The first two are definitely Portola. In fact, the shot of the 332 is taken about where the walkway is from the parking lot to the Diesel Shop, looking northeast. Always interesting to me to see WP's original 0-6-0s. I'm so much more familiar with the shape and outline of the 163-166, the ex-Verde Copper engines, which look so much bulkier than the original class. The 151-162 engines almost look dainty by comparison. FYI: work continues on WP 0-6-0 165. She is slated to go back on her drivers in April 2013. We'll have a couple of big cranes at the museum and it should be quite a show! See a steam engine float through the air with the greatest of ease! Neat shots! Thanks. Z Date: 12/12/12 21:32 Re: Western Pacific Steam Locomotive Review Author: lwilton That last picture of the 205 shows two tanks on the front. I'm guessing the one on the top of the boiler is an Elasco feedwater heater. But what is the one on the pilot? An air tank? Or another heater?

Date: 12/13/12 05:38 Re: Western Pacific Steam Locomotive Review Author: Labby It looks like an Alco plate on the 332. Did the WP build those tenders or Alco?
Thanks, Labby Date: 12/13/12 07:45 Re: Western Pacific Steam Locomotive Review Author: LoggerHogger The tender on WP #332 came from ALCO.
Martin Date: 12/13/12 21:26 Re: Western Pacific Steam Locomotive Review Author: 4-12-2 Great pictures, thanks for sharing!
