Frisco 4502 and a T1
Author: OKTrainboys

This is a picture of a picture of a negative I bought off eBay ....best I could do, but what a cool photo.....Did not even realize this combo of locomotives ever actually happened.....The photographer keenly focused in on exactly the cab of the 4500 class locomotive...got it blown up to 24"by 36" and it is still sharp!

What a shot!! Only one place where this could possibly occur: on the Terminal Railroad Association of St. Louis (TRRA) just outside St. Louis Union Station in St. Louis, Missouri. Both Pennsy and the Frisco served the station, and in the late 1940's PRR T1's were not uncommon power for Pennsy trains eastward to Indianapolis and on to the east coast. The Frisco 4502 was specially painted for the SLSF's Meteor passenger train.

Superb, what it would have been like to see a t1 in person! Hard to believe that they couldn't even save a single one of them.

Thx for the share,
Karl

THAT is awesome. Nice find. Really love the T1's and the more I study up on them the more I appreciate what they were built for and the job they did for the Pennsy. Making and keeping time was priority number one and those beasts could fly.
