Steam & Excursion > Clover Valley Lbr. #4 As Feather River Lumber - 1957!

As Howard reminds us, the PLA is returning Clover Valley Lumber Co. Mallet #4 to operation next Sunday after Winterail.

Here is a great shot of the same engine in her last year of operation in 1957 for her new owner, Feather River Lbr. Co. Guy Dunscomb caught #4 pulling away from Crocker Tank after "getting her hide tight".

#4 worked only this one year for FRL. She was then sent down to Reno to serve as a stationary boiler until she was retired from that too. PLA picked her up in the early 1970's.

Cool picture Martin, reminds me a lot of the topography the Sumpter Valley traversed as well.
