I just checked the weather forecast. Niles will cool down considerably for Sat & Sun, predicted high is 84 degrees, cooling to 63 degrees just before dawn. Sunol will be peak at 100 degrees Sat, 93 degrees Sun, cooling to 61 degrees just before dawn. So mornings will be especially nice. The trains have openable windows, a nice self-generated breeze, and open-air cars with roofs as well as Harriman coaches. There is a cool shaded picnic area across Kilkare Rd from Sunol depot, complete with picnic tables, BBQs, heritage oak trees for shade, and a nice lawn for the kids to play on. Come on out and enjoy the steam weekend!
