Steam & Excursion > Train Expo 2014?Date: 01/07/14 15:43 Train Expo 2014? Author: Ianmck425 I have been wondering for a while...is there any other BIG steam coming to this event?
Date: 01/07/14 16:08 Re: Train Expo 2014? Author: HotWater Never heard of it. So,,, where will it be held? What are the dates? What "big steam" locomotives are already committed? What railroad/railroads are hosting the event?
Date: 01/07/14 16:24 Re: Train Expo 2014? Author: DLTBerkshire Well, the information is already on The Steam Railroad Institute's website & it will tell you the up to date information about the steam engines that will be going. Like the Gramling tank engines, the steamers from The Little River Railroad & even possibly BUT maybe Nickel Plate 765 if the berkshire doesn't have a BIG schedule with Norfolk Southern this summer.
Date: 01/07/14 17:14 Re: Train Expo 2014? Author: Zephyr78 According to the SRI website and Facebook page, Train Expo 2014: Locomotives, Wings, and Wheels will be taken place at the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, Michigan from June 20th to the 22nd, 2014. At the moment, 5 steam locomotives have been official confirmed for attendance at the event.
Pere Marquette 1225 Little River Railroad 110 Little River Railroad 1 Lehigh Valley Coal CO 126 Flagg Coal CO 75 SRI have stated that there will be more updates/announcements in the near future so it would be advise to keep an eye out on both their website and Facebook page. Hopefully, there will be those on this forum that are affiliated with both SRI and the event that will chime in as well. I hope that answers you question and have a good night (Stay warm as well!). Author: bigjim4life I can imagine that a few more steamers at least will show up....it's only January, there's still time for these things to be announced!

I'm basically just a run-of-the-mill rail fan who was more than willing to help answer Ianmck425's question with information already confirmed from SRI. Just something to point out. Thank you very much and gave a good night. Luke Iverson Posted from iPhone Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/08/14 15:34 by Zephyr78. Date: 01/08/14 19:48 Re: Train Expo 2014? Well, I can say with certainty that SP4449, SP&S700, UP844, UP3985, AT&SF3751, and N&W611 will NOT be attending. Date: 01/09/14 09:02 Re: Train Expo 2014? Author: towazy And I dont't think 1218,2120,2100,2102 or 610 will either...smile.
Curious to see if this goes any further. Tom Date: 01/09/14 09:32 Re: Train Expo 2014? Author: bigjim4life Well, there are quite a few steam locomotives in the Michigan/Wisconsin/Ohio/Midwest area in general that could show up...some big ones, some not-quite-as-big ones, etc. You never know...

What steam engines sit in Ohio? I can't think of any operable steam locomotives in Ohio, or even any that could be restored in time. Ohio... Ohio... why does that state - so close to Michigan - ring a bell? : ) Hey - maybe Steamtown's 0-6-0 #26 will make an appearance, lol. Trains, wings and wheels... wonder why it is called "Train Expo"? I guess that leaves room for motive power of the non-coal /oil burning nature, too? Looking forward to the event and the updates. /Mitch Date: 01/09/14 16:15 Re: Train Expo 2014? Author: Emmo213 I believe 1293 from Age of Steam can still operate.
