Has the UP Steam Crew commenced operations to get UP 3105 and sundry items through and over the parking lot to UP 3105 new 'home'?

The races at Pomona are nearly over, so the UP might move the trains before the big boy is moved east in early spring, I assume.

Is the public invited to watch the movement? (and the assembling/moving of panel tracks)

The UP 3105 is the replacement diesel (SD40-2) for
the "Big Boy" UPP 4014 steam locomotive at the Pomona Fairplex.
I hope this info helps !!

It's been in a parking lot that is just crawling with security.
The NHRA guys have a lot of expensive toys and they're not afraid to hire security to keep them safe.

Well, that would make it authentic then wouldn't it...at least for a L.A. unit...

It hasn't been in the parking lot, it's been sitting outside the fence as the NHRA guys needed the space for the drags.... racing that is not freight, lol).-BMT

I predict that the move might commence this Monday 2/17. They are probably taking all of this week to take down the concession and ticketing areas leftover from the drag races. I might swing by there today since I'll be in Pomona and see if the 3105 is in the same spot outside the parking lot.

It's still there, Rich. I just drove by there about 1/2 hour ago. I didn't see any concession stands in the area so it might be a go for the move this coming week. Hopefully the Rail Giants gang will let us know when the move will take place.-BMT

Thanks, Brian. I just drove by there this afternoon and snapped a picture out of my car window from the Fairplex grade crossing. I made a right on Arrow Highway to get a better look and Engine, car, and caboose still look grafitti free. This little spot looked so quiet now after being the center of the railfan universe 3 weekends ago.
