The museum was closed, so we started playing around w the scissor lift thing. Doyle thinks it's funny to rock it when you're all the way up.

What goes into the holes in the front firebox sheet at 4:30 and 7:30 from the boiler?

Staybolts. The whole step, the inner wall, has been removed and will be replaced. What you're seeing is a sort of cross section of the boiler.
(I understand it, but I'm sure someone out there knows all the terminology needed to explain this correctly)

It's kinda shocking at first seeing 4449 that way, but give it a minute and the education part kicks in. It's a privilege to see her like this. BTW yeah, offer him a Coke. Haahahahaa...

Some more of the throat sheet has been cut out since I saw her in December. Was it found to be too thin? Lot of welding coming up.
