Another Steam Meets Zephyr

I seem to recall this was at Niles. 1959. In this case, both engines are Western Pacific.

Yep, Niles. Present day Fremont at the north end of Shinn street.
Great photo, thanks!

Edit: Fremont was incorporated in 1956, so technically it is Fremont at the time of the photo.

Great Photo! I was 2 1/2 and lived just down the tracks in Livermore where I would see the Zephyr pass behind the A&W.

Was this the WP 50th anniversary event where they added the 94 to the point of the Zephyr at Fremont (August 22, 1960)?

I don't believe so. I (my family) left California in March of 1960. However, I must admit that my recollection of the #94 meeting the Zephyr was at the Pleasanton Golf Course, not Niles. On a couple occasions. friends and I would "motorcade" trips. I don't think that would be possible today with so much growth having taken place.

Any chance it was this "Niles Railroad Days" special on June 7, 1959?
