Remember July 6, 2005?

Low clouds greeted passengers and visitors the morning of the "Steam Doubleheader" to Wishram, WA, and return. Portland Union Station.

I had the pleasure to be aboard that day and there were several hundred smiles aboard and many more
along the way. Definitely a day to remember.

Probably my foamiest day ever. Definitely the most exciting and intense chase I've been on.

A great experience riding this event, part of the PNWC-NRHS convention. Rule G and I had been trading emails, and finally met each other on this trip. He came from Pennsylvania to be a part of this.

Was great to meet you on that trip, Jim.

That excursion will always be one of my favorites - 2 great 4-8-4s, the beautiful Columbia River and a nicely run trip.

Oh boy, do I remember that day! I was 11 years old, had a broken wrist, and my parents kept complaining that BNSF wouldn't allow the train to stop for the planned photo-runbys. One of my all-time favorite train rides!

Come to think of it, I don't think 700 has made it onto the mainline since this trip, has it?

Keep on steamin'!
