Steam & Excursion > Sierra Photo "Freight" Info NeededDate: 08/01/14 12:39 Sierra Photo "Freight" Info Needed Author: CrudPunko I'm also posting this over in the Nostalgia forum.
These three photos show a "photo freight" on the Sierra Railroad. The freight was actually made up of this single NYC boxcar followed by passenger cars which made up a special excursion that appears to have operated between Oakdale and Jamestown. If anyone can fill in a date and who sponsored the trip, I would be grateful. (All photos by Jim Wren) 1. Sierra No. 28 and train at Warnerville, taking on water. 2. Eastbound near Keystone 3. Switching at Jamestown (at least I think its Jamestown.) Date: 08/01/14 16:06 Re: Sierra Photo "Freight" Info Needed Author: LarryIngold Photo # 3 looks like Tuolumne City at end of track.
Date: 08/01/14 17:30 Re: Sierra Photo "Freight" Info Needed Author: CrudPunko Over on the Nostalgia board it was determined that Photo 3 is indeed Tuolumne. Also, this is a Central Coast Railway Club excursion of October 1961. The Central Coast guys are still going strong too - co-sponsoring the Feather River Express trip next weekend through the Feather River anyon and a V&T Explorer trip in October.
