Steam & Excursion > More sad times at BayshoreDate: 08/17/14 04:30 More sad times at Bayshore Author: TonyJ Following up on LoggerHogger's earlier post about when SP used to scrap their own steam locomotives, I offer this sad scene where at least 15 various locomotives wait their turn with the cutting torch. As common practice back then the tenders were removed as they often had a lot of service life remaining when used with other locomotives. The lead locomotive pictured is 4-4-0 SP1537, with a 2200-series 4-6-0 behind her. The date is July 4, 1935.
