Steam & Excursion > The dormant EBTDate: 08/21/14 12:36 The dormant EBT Author: m1bprr Paid a recent visit to the dormant East Broad Top RR Orbisonia, PA. For the first time since its existence as a tourist railroad nothing has run. There are issues as to whom will operate it, in the mean time Mother Nature is slowly taking over. This is a treasure that hopefully will survive.

Tom Date: 08/21/14 13:15 Re: The dormant EBT Author: Jason-Rose Well done, Ed.
I'm grateful I was able to see it operating and sure hope to again someday. Jason Rose Spring, TX Rio Grande Explorations Date: 08/21/14 14:00 Re: The dormant EBT Author: Daveb Just goes to prove that things will change and not always for the better. When I look back, I regret not going and riding. That's been added to my list of lost opportunities. The list includes:
- N&W Steam over Saluda - RGZ with my spouse (although I did ride alone in 1977 and could have anytime after 12/77). - Waiting for a MILW electric. I was there when the lines were charged - but went off elsewhere to see other traffic. - Riding the RDC out of Victoria - See the RI combine their Rocky Mountain Rocket at Limon. There are others but hard to type through the tears..... Date: 08/21/14 14:43 Re: The dormant EBT Author: patd3985 Beautiful job Ed! You really put your heart into this one! Thanx,..............Pat

Hey where is that 1361 boiler??? Date: 08/21/14 21:10 Re: The dormant EBT Author: 2720 Very nice Ed!!
Brings back memories from 1985 when a friend and I spent a day there riding and chasing trains! It is sad to see it sitting doing nothing, but at least it is still intact and waiting for a brighter future! Lets cross our fingers! Thanks Again, Mike Date: 08/22/14 08:49 Re: The dormant EBT Author: Keystone1 Ed, This is your best tape ever! And not a single moving train. That mountain banjo, violin and jug music make the whole tape. Well done!
