Leaving the Narrows

About 10 minutes out of Chama, this train heads for Cumbres Pass with a couple hundred passengers. Yesterday morning. Today is Goose Day here, replica #1 and #5 both here for passenger trips over Cumbres.

The physical plant (all of it) looks to be in excellent shape. Congratulations to all of the Cumbres people for doing an excellent job.

For the most part, this line is in better shape today than it EVER was. But it takes money and they are NOT operating in the black, from what I hear. Consider donating or other means of support, if you can. Can you imagine the magnitude of loss should this (and others near-by) have to close?
