WP 165 fall update
Author: trainjunkie

In the spirit of CaliforniaSteam's below on SP No. 18, there is more good news on the steam front from California as WP 0-6-0 No. 165, at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, has passed its initial FRA boiler inspection plus it has been reunited with its cab and restored air pump as of the close of the fall work session. Below are a few shots from the most recent work session with details in the WP 165 blog here:

Isn't it a great feeling when an engine starts to go back together? Rekindles the energy.
Are you going to do half sleeve repairs on the flexi staybolt sleeves?

Thanks for your interest in the 165 project. I'm just a dumb volunteer so I'm posting a reply to your question on behalf of 165 CMO Chris Allan with, "Several options are being considered. We will take the advice our advisers who include Steve Lee and other steam experts."

Cheers!

Didn't that guy with the green cap have something to do with some big engines that actually ran quite often?
