Loggerhoger Returns From Fall Photo Charter Week!
Author: LoggerHogger

Well, the week long 1,300 mile treck to 4 different steam railroads to run Falll Photo Charters is finally over! Pete Lerro and I along with Ron Burkhart enjoyed this trip that was 6 months n the planning.

Here are some examples of what we were able to capture. With severl thousand photos taken I have only grabbed a few here to show what we were able to capture. We visited Mt Rainier Scenic RR, Chelatchie Prairie, Oregon Coast Scenic and I tacked on the Sumpter Valley weekend that I help on so those visitig from afar can get even more of a steam fix.

Thanks for the photo! With the long days of shooting, and crews 'going dead' on hours, I did pitch in and fire #25 for the night photo shoot with OCSR president Scott Wickert. I have always loved running steam at night. The chance to operate #25 at sunset along the Coast out to the night shot spot and run her back after dark was something I would not have missed for anything.

Here is one more from the Sumpter Valley and one from OCSR.

Thanks for posting these great pictures... The McCloud River #25 is one of my favorite rod locomotives... It is a great thing... I know you all had fun...

I participated in the Oregon Scenic RR charter and it was a very enjoyable event. These events don't just
happen without lots of planning and organization. Then at each stop there is the "call to action" of directions
for each participant to get off and set up for their opportunity. Martin, Pete, Ron and the Engine Crew were
exceptional in making our photo charter a very enjoyable experience. If you ever have the time to participate in one
of these events involving these folks by all means make the investment. It will be an experience you will
cherish and remember for a lifetime. Thanks also to the participants who all followed the directions and
made it even better.

Martin, thanks for the report of the amazing set of steam charters. I particularly like that "new angle" shot of McCloud 25 on the short trestle of the OCSR.
