I agree Steve. In another couple of weeks I will be out in the woods shooting wildlife. I got a call yesterday about the first bald eagle in the valley for this fall.

Roger, I see 0579 was on one of those trains. Did it make it back to Chama?

Bill,

Caboose 0579 (and all the other cars) made it back to Chama though sticking brakes on a couple of other cars coming down Cumbres required two stops. Regarding 0579, I had cleaned out the clinkers in the stove and gathered some small wood. paper and small coal to burn when I was told that the roof flashing needed repair and not to light the stove. It was warm enough and I had space heaters in #0306 so that the passengers weren't uncomfortable.

Amazing C&TS has all these "serviceable" freight cars.

You can spend hours walking around looking at all the cars.

Yes, in our neck of the woods, we would need to have all the brake valves service, with new COTS dates, all journals oil and stenciled, all hand brakes and ladders and .................... (on and on and on)
