The 489 is out and about in the yard today getting ready for the hospital train over to Antonito tomorrow.

Thanks Sharon. 489 just made its way back to the east side of the shop where it's being serviced. You can hear it steaming quietly there.

It has made for a nice morning watching it move around the yard doing things. One more steam fix before Chama goes quiet until next spring.

Guess that means the 489 will be fighting the snow drifts from the east side this coming March like she did last March.

Have no idea about next March but last March was sure a bunch of fun. They may have to do a little of this to get to Antonito with the hospital train.

They took a first group of cars to Cumbres this afternoon so the line up to there got plowed today.

The nice thing about plowing this time of year is the snow is light and fresh, with little chance of ice at least early on. The spring hard pack is tough plowing.
