Any news on the tenders?

No. I don't have the numbers for the flats. Last reports the tenders were in Creston Iowa.

I don't know myself; however it could be that the railroads moving the engine are doing so at a small cost or even donating the move and thus they will move it when their traffic levels are not jepordized since this special move is at a reduced speed and with special handling.  This is just a guess based on other special moves in bygone years.

IIRC from another thread, the engine had to go another route due to clearance issues on the route the tenders took.

Also, it's not uncommon for High-Wide shipments to be stuck somewhere for awhile. Could just be a simple matter of waiting on another HW shipment or just looking for good time when it's the least disruptive.

No offense at all intended, but for these types of topics does it not serve people better to post in the existing thread about the status? Especially when there has been no real change.

Nesting all of the comments and updates under one thread for the same topic keeps all the current subscribers and contributors informed.

I see a lot of this on TO and if there's an internet forum policy rule book stashed in a caboose somewhere, I'm sure its included.

Two cents offered only to make the forum better.

This points up an issue with TO, posting in the existing thread would not be visible since new additions do not 'bump' the thread.

I thought that too when I first joined, but its an easy fix.  Follow these instructions to change your view settings to sort the threads by most recent post, rather than most recent new thread.

1. On left column click: "Form Options"
2. Change first drop down to "Sort Threads by most recent posts." (instead of "Sort threads by creation")
3. Click "Submit" button at bottom to save changes.

Passing along a report I've received on the tenders (on flatcars QTTX 131273 and QTTX 131267):

H-LINGAL1-25 on duty at 0405 in Creston, Iowa with BNSF 8242 and 4119 for power.  Went through Afton, Iowa at 0700.

Through Chariton, Iowa at 0843.

H-LINGAL was through Batavia, Iowa about 10:55 AM.  The tenders are on the second and third cars of the train with a covered hopper separating them from the power.
