Steam & Excursion > A ? about N&W 611's consist for 05/30

I know TRAINS Mag posted an article for subscribers only, about the cars that will be on the trip to Roanoke. Though, sadly, I no longer gave a subscription.

I've tried to look online with no luck. Will it be a mix of NRHS N&W equipment and NS OCS cars, private varnish?

From what I can find on the interwebs, the consist next weekend will be NS and other like cars up front with a mix of private cars in the rear. Hope to see some of you in Roanoke next weekend. B.

According to the Akron Railroad Club, the first half of the 18 car consist is made out of the ex-C&O excursion coaches normally found on these trips (42-4, 46-7), with the three coaches of NS' Office Car Fleet (28, 29, 26 New York), and the two coaches of the NRHS Watagua Chapter (N&W 539 Powhatan Arrow and FEC 500 St. Augustine). The first class cars would consist of up to three domes (with GN 1394 Prairie View), PRR lounge Paul Revere, NYC Lounge 43, SOU Lounge Crescent Harbor, and SAL Lounge Hollywood Beach.

With the 1407 tool car, that makes a solid Tuscan Red block of ten cars.

Shame it costs so much to build a passenger car these days. It would be interesting to build a wooden dome fleet that more or less matched other wooden cars.
