5632 in Savanna
Author: MartyBernard

Turning, after the first half of a fan trip, in Savanna, IL on April 1, 1962.  Photo 2 really shows how big she was.

Enjoy,

Interesting that her front coupler is folded down/out.

What a glorious engine. Thanks for the posting. Please tell me my memory is not playing tricks and she was not scraped out under mysterious circumstances. Dave

Sad to say that she was indeed "scraped out under mysterious circumstances".

Hey Dave,   Your mind was indeed playing tricks.   The 5632 was never "scraped out under mysterious circumstances."   I can tell that nothing like that ever happened. There was talk of doing that.  But never came to past.   It turned out that she was scrapped  before they could do the sraping.

Just some fun,  I know what you mean.

5614 is in St. Joe, MO.  It is part of the first set built, with the older front and cab, it appears to be in decent shape, now under a roof.
