MKT heavy 2-8-2  #901 sparkling clean, crosses over from one track to another as its head brakeman sits on top of his doghouse.  One might suspect it was warm but the lack of leaves on the trees and his coat probably mean it is just a little cool.  I don't have any idea where the picture was taken or when or by who.  But, I am glad I acquired it.

LOVE your steam shots Tom. How about some more T&P 600s on the Baird sub.?

I like Katy steam power, Tom.  However, they had this annoying habit of mis-matching their engines with tanks that seemed totally out of place behind the engines that they were attached to.  To me, your photo illustrates my point.  The tank doesn't compliment the engine, like what you'd see with, say, an RF&P 4-8-4, or any of the Van Sweringen Berkshires, or one of the T&P's magnificent M1 4-8-2's.  As one who places great stock in engine aesthetics, I've always found this puzzling.
