During the 1957 NRHS Convention held in Roanoke around Labor Day weekend. Date: 06/25/15 21:15 Re: N&W Y6B 2174 at English, WV Author: Panamerican99 I was on that train. It ran from Roanoke to Bluefield with A class 1240. The 2174 rook over for the train to continue to Iaeger then to Cedar Bluff and back to Bluefield.
Then, the 1240 coupled on to take the train back to Roanoke. Not only were ther plenty of open windows but there were three open gons with benches for the fans to ride. It was onew of the best excursions I've ever ridden. -JH |
