Train is running westbound (railroad north) downgrade on the single track and onto track 1. Laurel Run to Dupont is double track. They became CN Jasper, Athabasca, Yellowhead,Fraser,QuAppelle, Columbia. I believe the cars pretty much operated west of Winnipeg until VIA retired them in 1982. So one of those cars is the car in the picture.
