If I promise to watch trains while doing so, can anyone tell me about access to the stream in this area and downstream from here for fly fishing?

The river is the Rio de Los Pinos. I believe most of it travels through NPS and BLM land from here east to Antonito. Access to the spot in the photo is from the road at Los Pinos where 17 makes the sweeping 90 degree turn. You can also get to it from the road to Osier. From Antonito there are county roads that get you down there. Best to consult a good map and a local before trying. Those "roads" can be a bit rough.

Can't comment on the fishing.
