ATSF 2926 Update - August 13, 2016
Author: Cumbresfan

One work status and three photo set updates.

This weeks status update was from Society president Dr. Mike with the CMO and secretary out for doctoring. Work included beginning preparation for September's open house, more lubrication issues (this time for driver lube boxes), and more Form 4 calculations in preparation for FRA submittal. One landmark event was completion of a test apparatus for pressure testing the superheater tubes. The work status report is at the link:

Three photo sets with short videos:
http://nmslrhs.org/Photos/2016/07-30/index.html  Working more on lube lines and fabricating superheater tube pressure test equipment.
http://nmslrhs.org/Photos/2016/08-06/index.html  Sand Dome up! And more work on various lubrication lines.
http://nmslrhs.org/Photos/2016/08-13/index.html  Training for moving the locomotive, and more lube-line work.

Photos:
1. Superheater test equipment
2. Sand dome reattached following restoration
3. Kitty feeding time. The kitty picture last update with six cats on the engine was perfectly photoshopped by one of our young volunteers (fooled me!) ( http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?10,4089608 )

Geez.  I think you should take up some donations for some spay/neuter activities!

About a dozen of them have been trapped and so fixed and then released back into the group. This group of fat feral cats (guess you can call them a clowder) are permanent residents and kittens have not been present.

Wish I could make the open house again this year, but it's not in the cards. If they ever decide to do a public steam-up, I will make that for sure. (any word on that ?, this is supposed to be the year)

I still think that a cat shirt - even using the photoshopped image presented in the last update - would be a good fundraising shirt for families...

I am sure I missed this but let me try anyway.  I have been following this restoration for years and have visited
Albuquerque twice since all this great work was started.
Is there a schedule of when testing will begin and when those beautiful big wheels might roll?  Thanks
