Steam & Excursion > UP 844 Chase from North Platte to Fairbury

This is my first TO post. Been a memeber for a while and thought that I should eventually post something. Well I spent all day Friday chasing the UP844 from North Platte to Fairbury, Nebraska. These are just a few images from Friday morning in North Platte and Cozad. 

Photo 1: Taken on the E 12th St. bridge in East North Platte. UP844 races a loaded coal train east out of NP.
Photo 2: Going away shot of the train on the other side of the bridge in North Platte.
Photo 3: UP844 crawls through Cozad, about to make its first stop of the day.

Photo 4: UP844 passes the Z-KCBR east of Cozad. The second locomotive on the Z train was the SD70ACe UP8444. Would have been neat to get a pic of them passing but I didn't.
Photo 5: Due to others pacing the engine and it going just as fast as the 65mph road traffic, I wasn't able to get ahead of it until Gibbon. By this time of day, the sky had gotten cloudy and lighting was not great for photos.
Photo 6: UP844 blasts under the I-80 overpass on the Marysville Subdivision.

Keep up the good work, those shots were great man!

No. 2 photo will still be a classic 50 years from now. Super nice shot. Congratulations. Everyone will be wondering why the U.P. had such a car consist years from now.

Your images are among the best posted on T. O. ,  IMHO.      I especially liked your shots at N. Platte and Cozad.
