ATSF 2926 Update - January 7, 2017
Author: Cumbresfan

Well, the calendar has turned another page and 2926 comes ever so closer to completing restoration. Most all of us expect steam in her boiler later this new year. With that (and my still one-handed typing) I will provide mostly links to the new material posted at our web site.

From the CMO: "As with most weeks work continues on superheater hydro tests, 26L components connections, jacketing work is ongoing and our machinists are constantly fabricating various small parts replacing those items which are no longer useful". Reinstallation of large and small parts is ongoing and, as he says, some smaller parts and/or their place on the engine need work or fabrication.

Two new picture sets are up on our photo pages which include some short videos.

The annual safety refresher training will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 8 am to 12 noon at the Local 412 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Hall. The location of the hall is 510 San Pedro Drive SE in Albuquerque, NM. This is on the SE corner of San Pedro and Zuni. This 2017 training session will again be presented by Mr. Warren Scholl, formerly of the BNSF Training center in Overland Park, Kansas and a NMSL&RHS member. The focus of this training session will be on “Blue Flag Rules” plus additional safety items. As we approach the operation of 2926 the materials presented in this session will be vital for members to know. All active members should make every effort to attend this session.
