Trains magazine just reported the Age of Steam Roundhouse in Sugar Creek OH will have Saturday group tours through the summer and fall for $20. The tour times are 10 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. and groups must have at least 40 people and nobody under 10 years old allowed

The only downside I see is you and a couple buddies can't just show up and join a tour.

The Age of Steam staff request that interested groups contact the roundhouse at (330) 201-0037 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays to schedule a time and date for a tour. There is no preset limit to how many people can participate in a tour. Currently, the Age of Steam does not have a system in place to match individuals or smaller parties with larger prospective tour groups.

At least 40 in a tour? That seems very high. I guess they are counting on tour bus full.

I sent them an e-mail asking if there was some mechanism where you could be notified if a group was short
on people and you could be included, guess it wasn't important enough for an answer.

Quoted from the story, however:

FWRHS plans to revisit AOS later this season - probably in September.

The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society has visits planned on one or two days at the AOS Roundhouse in September. Sign up on the NKP 765 email list and you'll receive the notification for the AOS Roundhouse Tour when details are finalized. We had nearly two hundred attendees in spring 2016 and there are "new" locomotives since then.

When I was there last spring with the FWRHS, photography was permitted - just don't publish them on the net.
