Just the way I saw it ten days earlier, really enjoyed the visit,

All these years I thought the city of Portland was in Oregon. Plus, the ORHF, i.e. Oregon Rail Heritage Museum, was also located there.

I also could have sworn it was FORMER Southern Pacific 4449.

Nope! Only certain magazines use that reference. We STILL refer to her as Southern Pacific GS-4, 4449, or "Big Wheels".

as one of the many volunteers at the ORHC, we really appreciate your visiting and glad you enjoyed your visit. everyday, I say a couple of words of thanks for having a facility to safely host young children such as yours. we get to host visitors from far and wide, from headstarters to senior center folk and all between.
