Steam & Excursion > 844 Slow Roll At Rock SpringsDate: 04/27/17 18:49 844 Slow Roll At Rock Springs Author: walstib Here's a slow roll of UP 844 arriving at Rock Springs, Wyoming this afternoon.
After four days of chasing the engineering special east — from Santa Barbara to Green River, Utah — today I switched gears and chased the 844 from Ogden to Rock Springs. As you might imagine, the leg from Ogden to Evanston where the Interstate parallels the tracks, was incredibly crowded with chasers and pacers. I didn't witness any totally insane driving, but people were pulling over on the shoulder of the freeway. My goal was to have a safe chase. East of Evanston, where there are more muddy roads than paved highways next to the tracks, the crowd thinned out considerably. There was no shortage of wind, and some random snowflakes here and there. But overall, it was a sunny day. You must be a registered subscriber to watch videos. Join Today!
