Steam & Excursion > A requiem for 1522Date: 04/29/17 20:24 A requiem for 1522 Author: burlingtonjohn This photo is the last time I saw SLSF 1522 operational. After a service stop in Hannibal Missouri, she is southbound at the former CB&Q Hannibal Yards on the K-Line, 10 Oct 1990. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I totally understand why the good folks at the St Louis Steam Train Association pulled the plug and I will never second guess their decision. It was great while it lasted. She is sorely missed ‘round here. 1522 now rests at the Museum of Transportation in Kirkwood Missouri, awaiting her next call to service. Salute!
