Author: jst3751 In an article on UP planning and preparing for the 150 year golden spike anniversary, it is stated that UP operates 2 steam locomotives and is renovating a third.
What a bunch of crock. http://www.railwayage.com/index.php/freight/class-i/golden-spikes-steam-union-pacific-marking-150th-transcontinental-railroad-anniversary.html?channel=50 Date: 05/24/17 17:17 Re: Does Railway Age not bother to check facts? Author: cchan006 Trains Magazine messed up few years ago when the magazine bought into the "Senior Manager's" propaganda that UP 3985 hadn't operated since 2007. (False: it operated in 2008 and 2010)
This isn't a bad thing. TO members have the ability to post their own truths, with photos, videos, and eyewitness reports verifiable by other members. Just get a cup of coffee, relax, and cherish our media's Golden Age of Lies. :-) Date: 05/24/17 17:21 Re: Does Railway Age not bother to check facts? Author: mundo Remember some of this material could be from the UP own releases/pr statements. Not saying that trains no longer has the staff knowledge that it needs however.
Just like the local TV/newspaper/web site. Trash in, Trash out !. Date: 05/24/17 20:44 Re: Does Railway Age not bother to check facts? Author: MojaveBill People make mistakes more often than they cook up wild fantasies or lies. I've seen a lot of that on this site over the years along with terrible spelling and really weird grammar....
