Pipe organs are sort of like steam locomotives, pressure that is controlled by one individual using valves is sent through tubes and it makes beautiful sound. Pipe organs also have whistles. They are maintenance intensive, expensive to restore and it is hard to find experienced craftsman. And when they are used the public loves them.
