Author: LoggerHogger The date is the 4th Of July in 1936 and L.L. Bonney has traveled on this patriotic holiday to Marysville, California with his trusty 616 camera to see what action he can capture on film. The Western Pacific crew on 2-8-0 #23 did not disappoint Mr. Bonney!
We will never know if the crew of #23 put on this show just for Mr. Bonney or if they were simply in a hurry that day. Regardless the reason, they sure helped create a dramatic image on film. Author: wpamtk Beginning in 1925, the SN used the WP bridge to cross the Yuba River, so overhead wire extended over the WP main line from Marysville to Oliver (the junction south of the river), about 0.6 mile.
