FWIW, Just received this via Facebook and Twitter...

There has been a change in locomotive No. 844's schedule. It will not be leaving Council Bluffs on Friday, June 30.

Stay tuned for more information.

Track maintenance windows maybe? With this heat they habe been finding bad spots in the track?

I heard they wanted to do some maintenance on one of the support car trucks.

We used to take care of most of the car repairs in house, or have the car dept fix em, but maybe that has changed!

Haven't had time to do that while they've been there
for a week or more already? Or is it more than just
routine maintenance?

I would've thought since the whole passenger car fleet is based there that it could've been done earlier.

A week to do wheel work? Uh guys, you know good and well Ed's trying to cover something up again!

I saw a picture on my facebook feed of one of the UPP support cars, Art Lockman maybe?, with part of the car body stripped to bare metal. The post said something about repairing damage to the car side.

That is the foamer rumor running wild thru the NE Railroads FB group. Hard to tell for sure as the "tag" is covered in silver duct tape. I find it hard to believe that the car could be tagged as there are people around the train all the time.

Heritage park has 24 hour security, Home plate has security everywhere, wouldn't have been done while moving between. The cars are painted with Imron and some sort of tagging shouldn't require stripping. The truth will come out eventually.

I was told one of the Steam support cars was having truck work done and delayed departure by one day. Still won't go watch.
If it was 3985 that would be a different story.

Here is the picture in question. It does look like something is being covered rather than there being damage. As I said, the real reason for things will eventually be learned.

Maybe the DL renamed the car for himself and management finally told him no....
