Steam On The 4th Of July - Loggerhogger Style!!
Author: LoggerHogger

As we have done for the past several years the City Of Prineville Ry in conjunction with the Oregon Historical Society sponsored a day-long series of public trips out of Prineville, Oregon using the Mount Emily Shay.

With temperatures in the 90's this made for a long and hoht day for the crew in the cab which was Scotty Hutton and yours truly. Our conductor Dan Mattioda caught the first photo of me on the tender during the noon water stop. Believe me, I was ready for a break from the heat in the cab!

We carried over 1,000 happy travelers in 8 hours and we all got home in time to watch the firewords!

Can't think of a better way to celebrate the Fourth of July. Good for you guys, and thanks again for the daily dose of nostalgia.

Number two image is my favorite and the hot air balloon in the image also
gives it character. Thanks for sharing.

Need to wear some swimming shorts under the overalls so you can take a swim in the tender while filling it! ;^D

Hot air balloons. There are 2 in the photo.
